Rich’s biggest fish
On 11-13, I fished with my good friend Rich Wells. His father and Uncle were in from Colorado, we went out for a little trout fishing. We caught 15 trout in the 1 to 3 pound range “good eating size”, Rich caught the biggest one late that afternoon. We caught the trout on grubs, Saltwater Assassin Sea shad color “chart. diamond” this has been a good color for me this year! Today I took Glenn Day and his son, and well we killed the Trout!!! We had a total of 59, yes I said 59, It was a very good day! We started using Saltwater Assassin Sea shads in colors “chart. diamond and crystal shad” red heads. We got five on jigs, then I decided to see if they would hit live shrimp better. Boy they like the shrimp, every cast caught a trout or missed one! 59 trout later we were out of bait, time to go home. We kept our limit, “Glenn’s fish fry should go just fine”!! We had a lot of fun, I even got to catch a few between netting trout. Thanks for checking out this report, get out there and catch a few. Even better give a me call and I’ll take Ya! 910-233-4139 Capt. Jot

The temps are cooling down, but the fishing is Heating UP>>>>>>! Summer has not wanted to leave southeast NC, but Winter is coming on. On 10-31 we caught some very nice “trick or treat” Speck trout, the trout hit Mirrolure’s color “E-chick”. We caught 4 in about 30 min’s, they were nice fish 3.2, 3.6 and 4.1 pounds. I was pretty happy with that nice of fish with 73 deg water temp, that’s warm for our bigger fish. We also have seen a few Redfish on top-water plugs on high water tides and Saltwater Assassin “Blurp” on the lower water tides. The Blurps we are using are Good Penny and Drunk monkey colors “yes thetas the real name” in shrimp pattern. Those Drum just can’t get away from that great smell those Blurps put out! There have been some nice Flounder caught around the islands in the the main channels, on live bait and jigs “blurp”. Well I’m going to hit the water running tomorrow and I’ll you know how I do.
