Carolina Explorer 9-29 Report. Fall Fishing has been Great, Let see what happens after all this rain.

Sorry for the delayed report.  The fishing has been so good, that sitting in front of the computer was not an option.   We have been catching lots of redfish on lures or live bait.  The speckled trout, and flounder have been biting as well, but not as good as the redfish.

Just off the beach we have had great spanish mackerel fishing.  Lots of nice fish and plenty of action.  The gray trout have been biting on live mullet or spoons.  The flounder action on the reefs has been ok, with some big fish showing up.

Call for my fall rates.  If you have 1 or 2 people, I have the trip of you. 910-264-1807.

Checkout the pics and see what you might catch on your next trip.

Wally and his boys slammed the spanish macks, and some nice gray trout.

Matt with a double of nice reds.  Two fish two cast.  We slayed them this day, along with a few trout and flounder.

Candice with a nice fish.  She said the trip was for her son, but looking at this smile, I think she wanted to go fishing.

Susan and Rick with a double on redfish. The couple that fishes together stays together.  We also caught a nice spanish in the creeks, that was strange.

Mark Jackson and his son fished with me two days.  We caught over 60 reds.  Most of the were upper slot to over slot fish. Some of the best fishing all fall.

Marks son with a 33inch brute.  I mean we slayed them. Released all the fish except a few flounder.  The ladies at the Gulfstream fried them for their lunch.

Ray Dixon of Dixons Heating and Air.  The best AC man in the county.  He keeps me cool in the summer.  We slayed the reds this day, 25 nice ones.  All released to catch tomorrow.

Jeff Gallimor with a nice red and trout.  He caught these fish on back to back cast.  The spinnerbaits were working today.

Arnold Kelly and his brother on their 10th or 12th trip with me.  He loves catching spanish and telling lies.  See you soon Arnold.

Brian with a nice redfish that fell for a Gulp shrimp.  You will see pics of them fishing lazy in a second.

Dave with a nice red that fell for a gulp.

Dave and Brian fishing lazy.  We casted plugs and caught plenty. It is had to drink beer and throw lures.  When they worked up a thirst, we stopped and minnow fished. Plenty of room on the flats boat and nice chairs.

The Simons with a father son redfish double.  They caught so many that they complained of sore wrist and arms.  I did manage to catch them a few flounder as well.

Sue and W.L. with some flounder. We caught lots of short fish this day. I need to invent the fish strecher.

Joyce and her brother caught lots of spanish and a few flounder.

Thanks for reading the report.  We are in the middle of a major rain storm/tropical system.  With all the rain it should push the fish back down the river.  We will see what happens over the next few day.

If you want to go fishing or have any questions give me a call at 910-264-1807.

Thanks

Capt. Robert Schoonmaker   910-264-1807
