Carolina Beach and Wrightsville Beach Fishing Report – 8-8-12

Fishing in the Carolina Beach area remains to be strong, with nice catches of flounder, grey trout, red drum and spanish mackerel.  The flounder bite is still going strong with some of these fish ranging from 2.5 to 6 lbs in the past couple of weeks.  Now that we have some nice finger mullet around we should start seeing some good numbers and sizes of flounder.

Right off shore we are catching some nice spanish mackerel in the 3-4 lb range, they have been a blast to site cast to on a calm day.

Also the shark fishing remains strong with some good sizes, these sharks are averaging from 35-100 lbs.

Fall fishing is right around the corner so, fishing is only going to get better.  Whether your an experienced or beginner angler, grab your kids and let’s go fishing!
