Fishing Report Gulf Stream 6-18-2010
Had a father and son trip with Ken, Scott, Jordan, Tray and Steve all from the Va/ DC area. The weather was flat actually too flat and the temps 90 plus. Started in 130 feet and worked out but the seas temps were 88 degrees. Not much action trolling so we decided to try a little jigging. Finally Scott and Jordan got a double header of Almacos. It was just too hot jigging so we ran back inshore looking for cooler water temps. Finally, found some scatter weed in 130 feet holding fish. The 1st strike was a double headed of Wahoo and landed one of them. Continued to have action the rest of the day with Sailfish ( 2 in the baits but couldn’t get hooks in them), Mahi and a Cuda. Ended the day with 20 Mahi ( a few gaffers) and a worn out crew.
