Fishing Report Deep Jigging 5-2-2011 Day #3

We tried to get off shore yesterday but the weather man had other ideas with a strong east wind. Made it 18 miles and tried around the wrecks but not takers. Day #3 what a difference a day makes ran 30 knots plus all the way to the south and it didn’t take long. The Black fin were chewing with Alamcos, Big False Albes and AJs. The Mahi also showed up. Sami had a giant 30 lb Bull on Captain Rick’s boat and we had 3 others all on top water. The Black fin also were hitting on top water. Then at around 11;30 we had our shot and the big AJs with a double hook up. We knew immediately these were the giants. Unfortunately one other them broke the leader but we landed a 60 inch long x 34 inch girth AJ. According to the scale she weighed 95 lbs. We revived her and she swam away strong. This was the largest in 2011 and no doubt more to come. We ended the day like we started with everyone hooked up. Everyone enjoyed the flat ride in sleeping in the bean bags.
