Gulf Stream 3-12-2016

I had Frank, Luke and Matt for a day of trolling and jigging at the stream. The weatherman was nice for a change and ran out at 35 knots in flat seas. Started putting lines out in 150 feet and just as I got the last line in the water the long rigger went off and we put out 1st 40 wahoo in the box. The action was outstanding for the next several hours with a lot of surface strikes and multiples. We landed 6 nice fish by 11 AM and the guys wanted to go jigging and said we had enough wahoo. We moved north and tried different areas looking for Africans but no takers. We moved out to the deep looking for Blackfin and found plenty of fish on the jigs but the sharks were brutal and we could not land a single fish. We stopped at 1 more spot on the way in and Frank landed a nice 21 lb African. A good way to end the day.
