Hi Folks,

It’s been way too long since my last report but I have been enjoying some awesome fishing. Water temps are in the low 80’s inshore and offshore. For the most part winds have been favorable. Here we go:
INSHORE: Good size flounder and reds have been biting live bait fished on carolina rigs. Deep holes near inlets and heavy structure in the creeks and waterways have been the hot spots.
NEAR SHORE: The Spanish mackerel bite has been good. Some kings have been taken along with some cobia. The near shore reefs have been providing some nice flounder.
OFFSHORE: In the 10-25 mile areas mahi and kings have been the main attractions. Further out, 45-50 miles larger mahi are biting sea wiches with ballyhoo. ( I have had two mahi meals this week) Vertical jigging is attracting amberjack and some nice bottom fish.
GULF STREAM: The Stream has blackfin tuna, some mahi and wahoo along with blue and white marlin. That should give you plenty of fishing enjoyment.
CAPE FEAR RIVER: Good catches of flounder, reds and trout in the southern river can be had. Live bait works, but topwater and swim baits will get the job done too.
UPCOMING: As long as the weather remains “stable”, fishing should remain very good. It’s hot out there so focus on early morning and late evening for your best fishing.

Until next time…LET’S GO FISHING!!!
