EARLY SUMMER FISHING IS ON AT WB

Hi Folks,
The heat is on! Fishing is good to great depending on what day it is. Just about everything is biting, just not all at once. A bit less wind would be nice. Water temps in the low 80’s and plenty of bait around.
Now here’s my report:

INSHORE: Flounder are good size but an bit spotty. As mentioned one day the bite is good, the next not so much. Live bait on a carolina rig is best. Reds are cruising around and can be caught mostly on the falling tide. Sheepshead are biting at the bridges,

NEAR SHORE: We have had a banner year for cobia just off the beach. The spanish have been pretty constant with some blues mixed in the bite.

OFFSHORE: Good bites of king on live or dead bait from 8 miles to 25 miles. Mahi are biting from 15 to 30 miles out.

GULF STREAM: The stream is a little rough right now but mahi and blackfin are biting when you can get out there. Bill fish are also around.

CAPE FEAR RIVER: Pretty good bite of flounder, reds and trout in the river. Live bait and artificials are getting the job done.

UPCOMING: Look for big flounder to move just off the beach to the artificial reefs. Jigging with bucktails and drifting live bait will bring home some nice fish.
UNTIL NEXT TIME…LET’S GO FISHING!!!
