POST MATTHEW FISHING REPORT

HI Folks,
Well, Fall fishing was off to a great start until Matthew came and churned things up. With our proximity to the Cape Fear river and the long range flood forecasts, it may be a couple of weeks before things get back to normal. That doesn’t mean no fish. Here’s my report:
INSHORE: Even though tides are higher and the water is murky the specks have been providing a very good bite around the inlets and the creek mouths on curly tails and paddle tails. Some puppy drum action, using the same baits has been a pleasant surprise.Flounder season is CLOSED.
NEAR SHORE: Some albacore and blues have been hitting clarkspoons and jigs.
OFFSHORE: No Reports
GULF STREAM: No Reports
UPCOMING: Hopefully the waters will clear soon and the coming cold front will further cool the water and we can get into the full swing of fall fishing.
UNTIL NEXT TIME…LET’S GO FISHING!!!
