Blustery and Rainy Fishing Report

Hi Folks,
The weather is allowing me to finally post a report. Prior to recent weather deterioration fishing has been very good and by the weekend hopefully said fishing will get back on tract. Now here’s my report:
INSHORE: Reds and flounder biting, mostly on live bait which is showing up in good numbers. Fish near heavy structure; falling tide for reds and incoming tide for flounder.
NEAR SHORE: The Spanish macks have shown up along with some big bluefish. Trolling and casting/jigging will get the fish.
OFFSHORE: Kings and false albacore are biting from 10 to 25 miles. Trolling live bait, ballyhoo or spoons will work.
GULF STREAM: No current reports. Last week I was lucky to be part of a trip on the “Obssession” out of Pirates Cove where we caught one wahoo, 10 mahi, and 3 yellowfin.
CAPE FEAR RIVER: Reds, flounder and trout are biting. Fishing is good in the southern river up to Wilmington.
UPCOMING: Look for the bigger flounder to start showing as June arrives. More kings and mahi for offshore anglers by mid- June.
Until Next Time…Lets Go Fishing!!!
