IT’S FISHIN’ TIME in S.E. North Carolina

Hi Folks,

Well some more rain has come and the fish are biting even better than before. Inshore, near shore and offshore, the fish are biting. Summer is here, June is here and all is right in the fishing world. Now here’s my report:

INSHORE: From the inlets to the creeks to the river, the fish are biting. Redfish are hitting live bait and artificials. Flounder are biting live bait. On one trip this week, one of the captains I book for caught 20 stripers, 3 reds and 2 flounder. And, that was just an early morning outing, WOW, what a catch. The stripers were caught on topwater and suspended lures on light tackle and ran between 4 and 8 pounds.

NEAR SHORE: The Spanish macks are biting hard with several of the boats catching their limit Again, another one of my captains reports he had 75 Spanish this morning! Some cobia are around also.

OFFSHORE: King mackerel and some small mahi are biting in the 10-25 mile range. Deep jigging is bringing in some nice amberjack. The grouper bite is on and on strong!

GULFSTREAM: Gulfstream trips are producing some wahoo, mahi, blackfin tuna and kings.

UPCOMING: Look for the inshore bite to continue strong for the next month or so. The mahi bite closer to shore mixed in with some sailfish should crank up soon.

Until next time, LETS GO FISHING!!!
