SHRIMP AND SPRING FISHING

Hi Folks,
Found a few inshore critters this week, including black drum and sheepshead. Had to fight through a lot of spring “snot” weed (pardon the language, but it is what it is. Now here’s my report:
INSHORE: Weed that grew on the bottom during cold water is dying and releasing from the bottom causing all kind of problems for inshore fishing. Nevertheless, persistence pays off with some nice black drum and an occasional sheepshead. Hopefully the weed should be gone soon.
NEAR SHORE: A few bluefish are around, some of them of the large size.
OFFSHORE: Bonito have been reported at 10 miles and hopefully we will see them soon in close.
GULF STREAM: When boats can get out, wahoo and a few yellowfin are being caught.
CAPE FEAR RIVER: Reds, trout and a few flounder are being caught. Smaller whiting are biting in the southern river.
UPCOMING: Warm weather and corresponding warm water will bring the fishing to better and better heights,
Until Next Time…LET’S GO FISHING!!!
