John, Peter, Ken, Tetsu and Chris made the trip down fro NY for 2 days of deep jigging. The ride out was Ok with a mixed sea and NE wind. It didn’t take long before the guys were back in action. In the morning we had good action with a mix of AJs, Almacos and a couple of nice Blackfin. Then around 11:00 the action picked up with quad hook ups and then the big fish started eating. This was Chris 1st trip to NC and he caught the largest fish 56 inches x 36 inch girth. Ken had a 53 inch x 35 inch girth. We trolled to another location and missed a Wahoo on a popping rod. Peter caught his fish of a life time (Again) a 36 lb Gag grouper. This was truly a impressive fish. We ended the day trying for grouper inshore and Tetsu had a nice gag also. Overall a great day with plenty of action and fish in the cooler.
