Sami from SaltywaterTackle.com and Mogi with 5 anglers flew into NY and drove to NC for 4 days of jigging with myself and Captain Ric Croson. Day #1 had a slight NW wind but a nice rode out. Started in 140 feet and found a few kings and Almacos. Moved out to 200 feet and found the Wahoo ready to eat. We landed 2 nice fish 15 lbs and 25 lbs and lost a few more due to bite offs. Then the small AJs started chewing as fast as you dropped a jig. What they lacked in size they made up for with quantity. Had great action for a while. Then moved out to the deep and found Blackfin tuna. Landed 3 nice fish before the shutdown. Finally found some decent AJs but had to work for them. A good day with Wahoo, Blackfin, AJs, Almacos, Kings. Stay tuned for Day #2.
