Someone Please Flip The King Mackerel Switch To The On Position!!

Hello everyone! The fishing continues to be great and so far it has been a excellent year for redfish. It is almost boring that redfish reports are becoming the norm but there is nothing boring about catching them! A redfish has become a sure thing on every inshore fishing trip! If you would like to experience it first hand give us a call! Now for the report…. INSHORE: The flounder are biting well! They are biting in shallow water, deep water, ledges….everywhere. The preferred bait had been either live bait or Berkley Gulp! We even caught 3 on a spinnerbait! The redfish are stacked up and are working the docks and structure on the ICW, and the Wrightsville Beach docks seem to be producing the best. The flats are producing well when the wind allows and we had 2 of the best sight casting days that I can remember with lots of redfish caught and released. The flats are very non wind dependent and if the conditions are windy we simply fish the creeks or other nearby structure that is out of the wind. We produced a nice inshore slam under these conditions a few days back. The Bluefish are still around and have been snapping off a few carolina rigs every now and then. OFFSHORE: It has been a bit tough.. If the fish are there they have not been biting. The Spanish and kings were thick 2 weeks ago and now you have to be in the right place in the right time to catch one. Try early morning around the inlets for the Spanish using clarkspoons and a #1 planer. We ran to the dredge wreck and the schoolhouse a few days back and slow trolled LIVE Menhaden with no king bites! I was shocked! Big love turbo pogys always get the job done. After 2 hours of no fish we dropped the down rigger balls further down and we got into the big AJ’S. We got pinned and broke off 8 times by some large Amberjacks! It was a ton of fun but we were clearly out gunned! The bite should turn around any day and it might have already. Some one please flip the King Mackerel switch to the on position! Its time already! Lets go fishing! Capt. Matt Wirt www.reel-adventure.com 910-540-0570
