  • The beautiful thing about the Carolina coast, is that there is always a fish that you can catch. Right now, it is grouper time. Along with Grouper, there are snapper, Black Sea Bass, and Grunts to be caught. IF you find the fish it can be non-stop action all day. The best thing about it is that all of those fish also make great table fare. The Striped Bass are also biting well this time of the year, and they can provide a fun, hard fight. Book your summer trips now, and gurantee your spot. Capt. Owen Cape Fear.. (Read More)

  • I had Frank, John, Brian, Matt and Quinten for a gulf stream trip. The weather and ride out was beautiful and we started in around 120 feet looking for some scamps but no current and only a couple shorts. Started running off shore and found a current line with some life and decided to troll. It didn't take long when the short rigger started screaming and Quinten landed a nice 22 lb wahoo. We had great action on decent mahi gaffers for a couple hours. Then we moved to some ledges to start jigging and fishing with bait. The.. (Read More)

  • Wow! 2019 is here after 2018 went by in a seemingly blur. After a few changes in our fleet, we are now solely a Kencraft-Bayrider company. Starting 2019, we have 2 Bayrider Skiffs, and a Bayrider 239 Bay. These are truly top of the line inshore boats that can accommodate several different types of fishing. Although we went through some of the roughest and rainiest weather to date in the Cape Fear region, we were able to crank out another successful and fun filled year with some of the BEST customers and friends. • GREAT FISHING IN SOUTHEAST NC - Posted to Rod-Man Fishing Report by
  • Hi Folks, Water temps, as well as the air, are heating up! AND so is the fishing. Virtually everything is biting, at the right place and the right time. Early morning and late evening, generally, are the best times in this kind of heat...GENERALLY. Tide is still very important as is the moon. Now here is my report: INSHORE: Reds and flounder are biting well. Both can be found in the waterway, the creeks and the inlets. Soft plastics, such as Z-Man curly tails and paddle.. (Read More)
